Emeril Lagasse Cooks Gluten-Free

National Foundation for Celiac Awareness's Vanessa Maltin will join Emeril Lagasse on Emeril Green 7:30 tonight on Planet Green, Discovery Channel's eco-friendly channel, to cook wheat- and gluten-free dishes (including pizza). You can also catch reruns throughout the day tomorrow if you miss it. Lagasse has created a number of allergy-friendly recipes for the green spinoff, including Wheat- and Nut-Free Rice Paper Wraps (for those who have been missing Asian food) and Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Brownies. I found Emeril on that channel at 8 and 8:30 PM and the program was repeated at 7:30 and 8 Am the next day. I have Directv

I caught the ‘no wheat? no nuts? no problem!” episode tonight. It was great - it really got the point across that you can eat really well and allergen free (and there’s a great blooper at the end where they taste some vegan and allergen free chocolate)!

I am so glad that gluten free recipes are hitting the mainstream–not just for those of us with allergies but for everyone in general who wants to stay healthy and explore options. Thank you Emeril–from one NOLA expat to another.
