Peanut-Free Baseball & Food Allergy Blogging

Tuesday May 20, 2008

If you're in the Twin Cities area, here's an opportunity to experience Major League Baseball without peanuts, Cracker Jack, or other peanut allergy triggers that tend to be found in ballparks. The Minnesota Twins are hosting the first of four Peanut-Free Skybox Games tomorrow against the Texas Rangers. Three more peanut-free games will follow: June 20 against the Detroit Tigers, July 29 against the Chicago White Sox, and August 18 against the Oakland A's. Tickets are $30 apiece per game for the Skybox and can be purchased here.

Also, I've been remiss in mentioning the latest Living with Food Allergies Blog Carnival, which Ria Sharon of Check My Tag Community did a bang-up job hosting. At seventeen entries, I believe this is the biggest carnival yet, so do be sure to check the current edition out. It's full of actions you and your loved ones can take to raise awareness of food allergies and help improve public knowledge and safety of allergies in a host of arenas.

The St. Louis Cardinals are also arranging for a Peanut-Safe section at Busch Stadium on Monday, July 21 vs. Milwaukee Brewers thanks to the efforts of Gateway FEAST.

Tickets are $27 each. Call the Cardinal box office at (314) 345-9500 and request the “peanut safe” Section 328.
