If your baby has food allergies or is at risk for developing food allergies it is important to introduce foods one at a time so that you can monitor possible reactions to each food. The best way to be sure you are feeding your baby single-ingredient foods that are free from cross-contamination is to make them yourself.
Making baby food is simple and less time-consuming than you might think. If you have a baby-food mill, you can simply grind up a couple of spoonfuls of whatever vegetable you are preparing for your family (without any spices, butter or oils) at each meal. You can also make baby food in batches, pureeing it in a blender or food processor, and freezing single servings in ice-cube trays.
