A. The most common symptoms of food allergies are:
  • hives (urticaria),
  • rhinitis,
  • eczema,
  • swelling of the mouth and lips,
  • gastrointestinal distress (diarrhea, nausea, or constipation),
  • and most severely but rarely, anaphylaxis.

    Swelling of the mouth and lips almost always indicates a severe food allergy and indicates that you should contact your doctor for advice as soon as possible.
