A. Not at this time. Allergy shots are a form of desensitization treatments, and are sometimes used to treat allergies to pollen, animal dander, or other environmental allergens, among others. While some scientists are working on desensitization treatments for severe food allergies, these are not generally considered mainstream treatment for food allergies. In most cases, avoidance is the only treatment. Your own allergist, however, is the best guide to your prognosis and the best treatment for you.
