Johnson & Johnson Issues New Children's Benadryl Recall

By November 24, 2010

Follow me on:

Johnson and Johnson issued another recall of children's Benadryl this month. This recall is of Children's Fastmelt Tablets in cherry and grape flavors. A company press release states that the recall is due to "insufficiencies in the development of the manufacturing process" and not to adverse reactions from anyone taking the drug.

The company is recalling these drugs at the wholesale and retail level, and not from consumers. Johnson and Johnson states that these products are safe to use, if you have already purchased one.

The Benadryl products being recalled were produced in the Fort Washington, PA plant that was shut down by the Food and Drug Administration earlier this year. This is the 11th recall of Johnson and Johnson products in 2010.

If you have questions about the safety of a Benadryl product that you have purchased, call the customer hotline at 1-888-222-6036.
