Lactose Intolerance

Wednesday October 31, 2007

True or false: lactose intolerance can be controlled with over-the-counter supplements. It's possible for babies to be born with lactose intolerance even though breast milk is high in lactose. Doctors can diagnose lactose intolerance with a breath test. And many people with lactose intolerance can tolerate cheese.

You can find these answers, and many more, in my rough guide to lactose intolerance. Lactose intolerance is one of the most common dietary intolerances, and while it can be managed, lactose is found in some pretty non-intuitive places.
